Cutting Tools (Core Category: Metal & Non-metal Cutting & Machining Tools)
1. Specific Categories & Application Scenarios
The core function of such tools is to machine and form metals, wood, plastics and other materials through edge cutting. The key requirements are sharp cutting edges, wear resistance and high temperature resistance.
Specific tools include:
Drills (twist drills, impact drills, carbide drills, center drills, etc.),
Taps (hand taps, machine taps, spiral fluted taps, etc.),
Dies (round dies, square dies),
Milling cutters (end mills, flat end mills, ball nose mills, etc.),
Turning tools (external turning tools, internal boring tools, cut-off tools, etc.),
Inserts (carbide inserts, high-speed steel inserts),
Saw blades (woodworking saw blades, metal cutting saw blades, diamond saw blades),
Reamers, boring tools, broaches, etc.
Application scenarios are mainly concentrated in mechanical processing, mold manufacturing, woodworking, construction cutting and other fields, such as metal cutting in machine tools, wood cutting in furniture production, stone cutting in construction, etc.
Cutting tools of different materials correspond to different processing materials:
for example, carbide tools are suitable for hard metals, while high-speed steel tools are suitable for soft metals and wood.
2. Key Material Selection Considerations
The main failures of cutting tools are edge wear, chipping and high-temperature softening.
Material selection shall focus on high hardness, high red hardness, high wear resistance and moderate toughness, with emphasis on the following 4 points:
Material Selection
Choose compatible materials according to the hardness of the workpiece.
Common materials include High-Speed Steel (HSS), Tungsten Carbide (WC-Co), alloy tool steel, diamond and Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN).
- HSS features good toughness and low machinability, suitable for hand tools (hand taps, twist drills) and low-speed cutting tools.
- Carbide has high hardness and excellent red hardness (maintains hardness at 800–1000 °C), ideal for high-speed and hard-metal cutting, and is the most widely used material.
- Diamond and CBN are suitable for ultra-hard materials (stone, ceramics) with extreme wear resistance, but low toughness and easy chipping.
Edge Treatment
After material selection, grinding and polishing are used to optimize edge precision for sharpness and lower cutting resistance.
Coatings such as TiN, TiAlN can be applied to improve wear resistance, heat resistance and service life.
Toughness-Hardness Balance
Cutting tools must balance hardness and toughness:
excessively high hardness causes chipping; excessively high toughness accelerates wear.
For example, hand taps need sufficient toughness to avoid breakage; high-speed milling cutters and inserts require higher hardness for wear resistance.
Adaptability
Select materials based on processing conditions:
- Dry cutting needs heat-resistant materials;
- Wet cutting needs corrosion-resistant materials;
- Tools for soft materials (aluminum, copper) require anti-welding materials to prevent chip adhesion and ensure accuracy.
3. Our Processing & Assembly Advantages
We can manufacture individual components for all kinds of cutting tools, including drill bodies, tap cutting edges, saw blade substrates, insert blanks.
We possess core capabilities including forging, grinding and coating, and can customize edge angles and dimensions to meet customer requirements for different applications.
We provide finished tool assembly, such as drill-shank connection and saw blade-tool holder assembly, with strict control over assembly accuracy to ensure stable performance.
We support OEM production: custom specifications, surface coatings and packaging are available based on clients’ brand requirements.
We offer one-stop service from component processing to finished product delivery, and can also produce supporting accessories such as drill chucks and tool holders.
We have introduced advanced equipment and technology from Japan and Germany (CNC 5-axis and 6-axis machines) to better serve our customers' needs.
Our maximum processing outer diameter is 60, and the minimum control tolerance is 0.001. We have Japanese CNC Tsugami, CNC Citizen, multi-station cold extrusion forming machines, 500T press machines, casting equipment, and various process equipment, which can effectively provide customers with the best technical solutions.
Our company has a total of 300 employees, including 20 technicians, 10 engineers, and 15 quality control personnel. We have over 300 pieces of equipment.
