Surface nitriding treatment enhances hardness and wear resistance, adapting to high-frequency mold opening/closing and repeated clamping of fixtures.

Common CNC Machining Issues & Key Points

High-hardness material machining:
High hardness of mold steel easily causes tap wear, chipping and incomplete thread profiles. Use carbide-coated taps, reduce cutting speed, increase coolant flow, avoid built-up edge and surface scratches to ensure thread accuracy.

Deep-hole machining:
Deep holes (depth > 10×diameter) for injection mold insert nuts tend to have wall deflection, poor chip removal and incomplete internal threads. Use center drill positioning, step drilling + tapping with high-pressure coolant to ensure accuracy and thread integrity.

Non-standard thread machining:
Non-standard internal threads often have irregular profiles and lead errors. Custom special taps, strictly control processing parameters, and conduct go/no-go gauge inspection to ensure precise matching with non-standard bolts and avoid loose fitting.

Positioning accuracy:
Machining deviations of locating surfaces cause assembly misalignment; eccentricity between threads and locating surfaces weakens locking effect. Finish-mill locating surfaces, control flatness and perpendicularity, inspect positioning accuracy and coaxiality to prevent mold jamming and fixture clamping errors.
