Water Heater Valves (Pressure Relief Valve, Thermostatic Valve, Inlet Valve)
1. Application Scope
Suitable for the internal pipelines and water inlet/outlet connections of electric water heaters and gas water heaters.
- Pressure Relief Valve: Releases excessive pressure inside the water heater liner to prevent bursting.
- Thermostatic Valve: Regulates inlet water temperature to avoid scalding caused by overheated water.
- Inlet Valve: Controls the water inlet flow rate and acts as a shut-off valve for easy maintenance and overhaul.
2. Core Features
- High temperature and high pressure resistance, adapting to the water heater liner’s working temperature (normally 0–75℃) and working pressure (0.7–1.0 MPa).
- Pressure Relief Valve: Automatic pressure relief function — opens automatically when liner pressure exceeds the rated value and closes when pressure returns to normal.
- Thermostatic Valve: Precise temperature regulation and anti-backflow function to prevent cold water backflow and liner damage.
- Excellent overall sealing performance with no leakage.
3. Processing Notes
- Use correct high-temperature-resistant sealing materials, such as high-temperature silicone and fluororubber, which can withstand temperatures above 75℃ without aging or failure to avoid water leakage.
- Strictly control pressure relief accuracy. Set the relief value according to the rated water heater pressure (normally 0.7 MPa or 1.0 MPa). Ensure accurate opening and reliable closing through precise calibration.
- Polish the inner wall of the valve body to reduce scale buildup, prevent flow channel blockage or valve core malfunction, and extend service life, especially in hard water areas.
- Precisely assemble the temperature-sensing element of the thermostatic valve to ensure fast response and stable outlet temperature. The inlet valve core must be wear-resistant, high-temperature-resistant, and operate smoothly without jamming.
- Conduct high-temperature and high-pressure testing after processing: hold pressure at rated temperature and 1.2× rated pressure for 40 minutes. Qualified products show no leakage, deformation, or functional failure.
4. Selection Guide
- Pressure resistance ≥ 0.7 MPa, compliant with the national standard for special water heater valves (GB/T 20289-2017).
- Prioritize pressure relief valves with dual pressure relief + check functions to prevent backflow and save installation space.
- Prefer brass valve bodies for corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, high strength, and durability compared to plastic.
- Choose thermostatic valves with a wide adjustment range (30–75℃) and precision within ±3℃ to avoid unstable outlet temperature. Select inlet valves with smooth-operating ceramic cores for longer service life.
