Household Gas System (Gas Ball Valves, Safety Valves, Solenoid Valves)
1. Application Scope
Mainly used for safety control of household gas transmission pipelines and gas equipment.
Core applications include:
- Air inlets of gas stoves and gas water heaters
- Shut-off ball valves for main gas pipelines
- Safety protection devices (safety valves and solenoid valves) against gas leakage
They are key components to prevent gas leakage and explosion accidents.
2. Core Features
- Explosion-proof & high sealing performance: Able to withstand household gas pressure (approximately 2000 Pa), with zero micro-leakage.
- Corrosion resistance: Material resists erosion from trace impurities and moisture in gas, preventing valve body aging and damage.
- Automatic shut-off function: Some solenoid valves and safety valves can quickly cut off the gas supply in case of leakage or abnormal pressure, improving safety.
3. Processing Precautions
- 100% qualified air tightness test: Strictly prohibit any micro-leakage. Conduct hydrostatic test and air tightness test after processing (apply soapy water to joints, no bubbles allowed). Test pressure shall be 1.5 times the rated pressure, with pressure holding time no less than 60 minutes.
- Smooth internal flow passage: Avoid residual iron chips and burrs during processing. Polish the inner wall to prevent impurities from accumulating and causing valve core jamming, which may affect switching and lead to dangers.
- Strict welding & casting control: Ensure no air holes, cracks or slag inclusions in welding joints; no sand holes or shrinkage cavities in castings to guarantee strength and prevent rupture under high pressure. Conduct annealing after welding to eliminate stress and improve stability.
- Precise fitting clearance: Ensure flexible switching and reliable sealing to avoid gas leakage from the clearance. The coil of solenoid valves must be well sealed to prevent gas erosion and failure.
4. Selection Criteria
- Mandatory certifications: Products must have gas-specific certifications such as China Compulsory Certification (3C) and GB 16914-2012 Safety Technical Conditions for Gas Burning Appliances. Uncertified products are strictly prohibited.
- High-quality materials: Prioritize all-brass or 304 stainless steel valve bodies. Brass features excellent sealing and corrosion resistance; stainless steel offers high strength, fireproof and explosion-proof performance. Plastic valve bodies are not recommended (easy to age and damage under high temperature or pressure).
- Safety functions: Choose products with over-current protection and automatic shut-off. Solenoid valves can quickly cut off gas when leakage is detected; safety valves release pressure automatically under abnormal conditions. Full-bore ball valves are preferred for smooth gas flow.
- Appearance & quality inspection: Check for no obvious scratches or cracks, flexible switching, clear interface threads. Select branded products with long warranty and reliable after-sales service.
