As China’s manufacturing sector advances toward high-quality development and embraces emerging productive forces, the mechanical processing industry is making steady progress in becoming more high-end, intelligent, precise, and green.
Recently, major industry events—including the 14th China International Machine Tool Exhibition (CCMT 2026) and the Shenzhen Industrial Exhibition (ITES)—have showcased inspiring innovations and real-world applications.
These milestones reflect a new phase of growth for the industry: one rooted in domestic capability building, intelligent efficiency gains, and high-precision, scalable production.
At CCMT 2026, a remarkable 441 five-axis machine tools were on display—an impressive 35.8% increase from the last edition. Turning-milling compound machines, horizontal machining centers, and high-precision grinders are now widely adopted as standard solutions. Meanwhile, demand for complex, micron-level-accurate components continues to grow across aerospace, new energy vehicles, humanoid robotics, and semiconductor equipment—driving innovation across the value chain. Many industry leaders are now offering integrated “machine tool + automation + digital twin” solutions.
Features like AI-powered thermal compensation, intelligent tool breakage detection, and adaptive process optimization are helping reduce manual intervention—and boosting productivity by over 30%.
On the technology front, repeat positioning accuracy of leading domestic high-end machine tools has reached 0.4 microns, placing them firmly among the world’s best. Cutting-edge processes—including multi-energy field-assisted ultra-precision machining, liquid-cooled joint-specific processing, deep-hole drilling, and compound grinding—are gaining rapid traction, delivering tangible improvements in quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
