1. Overview
As core equipment for industrial grinding, polishing and precision deburring, bench polishers are widely used in hardware, electronics, mold, jewelry, sanitary ware and other industries. Their core working components, including electric grinding connecting rods, grinding heads and grinding stone rods, directly determine the polishing accuracy, operation stability and service life of the equipment. With the advantages of high precision, high strength and high adaptability, CNC precision machining and cold heading have become the core manufacturing processes for metal key components of bench polishers. They can fully meet the requirements of dimensional accuracy, structural strength, dynamic balance and durability of these accessories, and comprehensively improve the operation performance of bench polishers.
2. Applications of CNC Precision Machining & Cold Heading in Core Components of Bench Polishers
(1) Electric Grinding Connecting Rods
The electric grinding connecting rod is a key transmission component connecting the main engine of the bench polisher with the grinding head or grinding stone rod. It requires excellent concentricity, rigidity and dynamic balance, without jitter or deformation during long-term high-speed operation.
1. Application of Cold Heading: Plastic forming of connecting rod blanks is carried out by cold heading process to retain continuous metal fiber flow. The overall strength and fatigue resistance of the rod are improved through work hardening, avoiding fracture during high-speed rotation. Meanwhile, it ensures the straightness of the rod, with extremely high dimensional consistency in mass production.
2. Application of CNC Precision Machining: Finish machining is performed via CNC lathes and milling machines to accurately process connecting threads, clamping slots and positioning journals, with concentricity controlled within ±0.005mm. The grinding end surface is smooth and burr-free, suitable for quick assembly and disassembly of grinding heads and stone rods of different specifications, ensuring dynamic balance during high-speed operation and eliminating polishing jitter that affects processing accuracy.
(2) Grinding Heads
The grinding head is the core component that directly performs polishing and grinding operations of bench polishers, with diverse structures and strict precision requirements, needing to balance clamping stability and wear resistance.
1. Application of CNC Precision Machining: For special-shaped grinding heads, high-precision clamping grinding heads and stainless steel/cemented carbide grinding head bodies, CNC machining can complete the fine processing of complex curved surfaces, tapered clamping surfaces, positioning holes and locking grooves, with dimensional tolerance of ±0.01mm. It ensures the close fit between the grinding head, connecting rod and polishing consumables, adapting to different processes such as rough polishing, fine polishing and mirror polishing.
2. Industrial/Food-Grade Surface Treatment: The surface of CNC-machined grinding heads has high smoothness, and can be directly polished and passivated to avoid residue of grinding debris, suitable for fine polishing scenarios such as precision hardware and jewelry.
(3) Grinding Stone Rods
Grinding stone rods are mostly used for precision grinding, deburring and trimming of bench polishers, requiring extremely high rod precision and clamping end concentricity to ensure uniform stress and no shaking during grinding.
1. Application of Cold Heading: Standard grinding stone rod bodies are formed at one time by cold heading, with high processing efficiency and material utilization rate of 85%-95%, suitable for large-scale mass production. The rod has uniform density and strong bending resistance, adapting to long-term continuous grinding operations.
2. Application of CNC Precision Machining: Fine grinding is carried out on the clamping end and working end of the grinding stone rod to ensure coaxiality at both ends, and the limit structure is accura
